2012 saw a lot of firsts for Team Black Hawk. 2012 marked the first time Team Black Hawk went to two regionals, got selected to the #1 seeded alliance at a regional, won an elimination match, and won a regional.
Rebound Rumble is the 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition game. It is styled similarly to basketball where robots manipulate and shoot 8″ foam basketballs into four hoops on each side of the field. Alliances battle it out to score the most basketballs. At the end of the match, robots must balance on bridges to gain bonus points. During qualification matches, a special bridge can be used to gain extra qualification points.

Team Black Hawk's 2012 robot started with a simple design and evolved through the competition season. After a critical fault was found in the drivetrain at the first regional, a coaxial drivetrain was created using spare parts. And in preparation for Championships, an entirely new intake was created. But the 2012 robot's greatest feature was its consistent and high scoring autonomous - one of the highest at all competitions attended.
